Who is the Ol' Bronze Hare?
The Ol' Bronze Hare is a solo project started by Andy Young in 2020. The project started as a way for him to continue making music when their weekly sessions with friends ended due to the out brake of the pandemic. The name came from a pin that he found in a thrift store with a hare playing a guitar many years ago. From the start of the project his goal has been to explore the similarities between musical folk traditions from around the world. They have released two original albums inspired by the animals living around the Appalachian mountains.
Andy is a composer, educator, multi-instrumentalist musician, and self-proclaimed Renaissance man who was born and raised in the red clayed foothills of North Carolina. Music has always been an important part of the lives of his family and himself. He would like to think that the music is in his blood since a line of his family comes from the Lanier and Bassano families which were court musicians and instrument makers! Andy offers adult and children lessons on the banjo, bass, dobro, guitar, harmonica, mandolin, recorder, ukuleles, and tuba. |
